These terms govern use of the SJM Global Dental Alumni Network, run by the Alumni Association for the SJM Dental College alumni community. By using the portal or submitting a registration, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Purpose and eligibility

The portal supports alumni connections, association information, batch and chapter coordination, reunion planning and enquiries. Registration is intended for former BDS and MDS students of SJM Dental College. Public visitors may browse published information. Submit accurate details about your course, batch and contact information, and do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.

Registration and verification

A registration is an application, not automatic approval, a staff account, or automatic membership of a WhatsApp group. Authorized reviewers may verify details, request more information, reject an application or reopen a review. Application approval does not grant administrator or staff permissions. If you believe a review is incorrect, contact the Alumni Desk with your details for reconsideration.

Respectful community conduct

Treat fellow alumni and staff respectfully. Do not harass, discriminate, impersonate others, send spam, promote scams, share unlawful content or interfere with the portal. Do not collect alumni contact details for unsolicited sales, bulk messaging or resale. Never upload patient-identifiable information, confidential clinical records or content that violates another person’s rights. The association may restrict access or remove content to protect the community, and you may contact the Alumni Desk about a moderation decision.

Accounts and staff access

Where an account is provided, keep your credentials secure and notify the association of suspected misuse. Staff access is assigned by authorized administrators and must be used only for association duties. Do not share staff access or use private applications, messages or internal review notes for unrelated purposes.

Contributions, stories and photographs

Only submit material you have the right to share, and obtain appropriate permission from people whose private details or images you provide. You retain rights you own in your contribution and permit the association to review, edit for presentation and publish it for alumni portal purposes. Public material may be viewed and shared by others. Send correction or removal requests to the Alumni Desk with the relevant link. Do not copy or reuse other contributors’ material in a way that infringes their rights.

WhatsApp and external services

WhatsApp sharing opens an external service and lets you choose your recipients. Batch invitation links prefill a batch but do not establish membership or verification. WhatsApp communities and groups are administered separately, may have additional rules, and may expose your phone number to other participants. External websites and services are subject to their own terms; the association does not control their availability or privacy practices.

Events and organizing committee interest

Event dates, venues and participation arrangements may change. The Global Alumni Meet 2027 is in planning; its date and venue are not yet confirmed. Emailing interest in the organizing committee is an expression of interest, not confirmation of appointment or attendance. Any booking, payment, cancellation or refund conditions will be provided separately before a commitment is requested.

Information and availability

Published stories and professional discussions are for community information, not patient-specific medical or dental advice. Confirm event and association details before relying on them. We aim to keep information accurate and the portal available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every contribution is correct. The association is not responsible for independent dealings between alumni or external service decisions. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
